Spine-chilling moment adrenaline junkies cheat death – running on roof of skyscraper

A pair of adrenaline junkies have cheated death after running along a 274ft skyscraper overlooking a massive Premier League football stadium.

Chilling drone footage taken just before Christmas shows the duo racing each another on a slanted roof of a building overlooking West Ham's stadium in Stratford, east London, without ropes or safety equipment.

The pair, who want to remain anonymous, planned the dangerous project over two days.

"The side of the building where we ran up was slippery but once we got to the final stretch it was fine, nothing too shady", one of the two climbers said.

The two urban explorers had scouted the area for a new challenge last month and laid their eyes on the Stratford One building after admiring its unique architecture.

Footage shows the pair pacing up the thin inclining roof before jumping over a metal bar and turning right to reach the final stretch.

As the pair begin to reach the top of the building – which was previously shortlisted as one of the UK's ugliest buildings in 2014 – dramatic views of the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park can be seen in the background.

The anonymous climber added: "It took us a while to get in the building but as soon as we got in, we started the ascend. I wasn't scared at all.

"It felt good to be up on a new roof and we had new views too. We had the West Ham Stadium as a view".

The video, which was shared to Instagram, has left social media users at the edge of their seats.

"This is so beautiful to watch, reminds me of a great movie trailer," one person commented.

"Truly majestic !! I miss being there," added another person.

"So hard," wrote someone else, adding two fire emojis.

"I just imagined myself rolling off the roof, very practical for me," joked another user, adding a crying laughing emoji.

This isn't the first daring challenge the climbers have taken on.

Last year, one of them shared footage sat atop what appears to be a crane, while another video shows two climbers scaling a tall building to watch the fireworks on New Year's.

"This is so f***ing sick," commented one fan on the crane photo.

"So nice," added someone else, while a third person simply wrote "unreal".
