Spiky Ange Postecoglou lets Celtic frustrations show as he tells reporter 'you're asking the same questions'

Celtic boss Ange Postecoglou let his frustrations show after a dismal defeat at Hearts – as he insisted he keeps getting the same questions asked of him.

Hoops fans will have wanted a response after exiting the Champions League during the week to Midtjylland.

But when Gary Mackay-Steven gave Hearts the lead after just eight minutes – with new defender Carl Sterfelt at fault – it looked like more of the same on the manager's league debut.

Celtic did find a breakthrough with Anthony Ralston scoring a remarkable goal in the second half and when Kyogo Furuhashi was thrown on for his debut the visitors looked more likely.

But the Jambos fought back when John Souttar headed in the winner and Postecoglou was visibly frustrated after the match.

Speaking to Sky Sports, he said: "It's a game we could have won and we didn't.

"We've got to get better at closing our games, we've got to keep improving. We've got a game Thursday and we've got to bounce back and get a win.

"We can't afford time. We've got to bounce back and get results."

It was then put to the manager than he seemed to be repeating himself from after the Midtjylland game and his reply was frank to say the least.

Postecoglou said: "You're asking me the same questions so I'm going to repeat the same answers.

"That's where we're at at the moment but hopefully with every game that aspect improves. Carl Starfelt had one session with the team, Kyogo arrived and probably it's unfair from me to throw them out there.

"I just felt after 120 minutes on Wednesday night we just needed some fresh legs and some momentum.

"Once we got back into the game we looked comfortable and looked like we were going to take it out but it didn't happen."

Asked if the performance leaves him with more questions than answers, he replied: "Not more questions than answers.

"I think we know where we're at and what we need to do.

"It takes time, it takes training sessions, it takes time, it takes games.

"At the moment we're throwing teams together, I am anyway, and that's affecting it.

"But put that all aside, because that all sounds like excuses even as I'm saying it. It's still a game we could have won."
