Spider mating season sparks invasion of Liverpool homes

September is the start of spider mating season - with many of them making a love web in our homes.

Over the next month don't be surprised if you see more of the creatures than ever, as they search for the perfect mate.

There's lots of different species of spider that you can see around your home at this time of year - but the majority of them are completely harmless.

The only one that could prove a problem in the false widow spider, which has been known to bite people, but they won't attack unless you sit on one or one gets trapped within your clothes.

After we told you all the different types of spiders you could find in your home, many of you sent in your photos of the spiders you have found around your home.

Here's the creepy crawlies lurking inside your homes:

Deb sent in this photo, saying: "Look at them hairy legs."

Kevin Noon, from Walton found this spider in his house

Margaret Angell said she found this beast in her garden

Reader Elly Maloney said the spider "needed to start paying rent."

And Emily Elizabeth said the spider was "bigger than my hand."
