Spice Girls 'to reform to perform at Queen's Jubilee concert' including Victoria

The Spice Girls are tipped to reunite for a special performance as part of HM The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations – with even Victoria Beckham set to return to the stage.

The ladies have reportedly been asked to take to the stage as a full band – with Mel B, Emma Bunton, Mel C, Geri Horner and Vicky all expected to answer the call.

The group had previously been asked to perform at the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee in 2012, but were unable to do so.

However, a 2022 reunion would be the first time the group have been back together in full since their scene stealing moment at the 2012 London Olympic Games where they performed while riding atop black taxis.

A huge concert is to take place on June the 4th with big music stars expected to line up to sing in honour of Her Majesty’s 70th year on the throne.

A source told The Sun:BBC bosses are determined to put on a show to remember and what band is more iconic than the Spice Girls?

“The invitation has been made and it’s now in the hands of the girls.”

They added: “It’s no secret they regret turning down a similar opportunity for the Diamond Jubilee and they all have a deep respect for the Royal Family and the Queen.”

Back in 2012, a huge concert was held for the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee celebrations – with the likes of Sir Elton John, Sir Paul McCartney, Kylie Minogue, Take That, JLS and more taking to the stage.

At the time, Mel B lamented via Twitter : “Makes me sooo sad Spice Girls wasn’t part of the Queen’s jubilee, break my heart big time, I was so up for it, watched some of it on TV, amazing!”

And Mel C too complained about not taking part, tweeting: “Bit miffed I’m not at Buckingham Palace” – along with a sad face emoji.

Melanie C spoke last year about a possible Spice Girls reunion, insisting that all her bandmates 'all passionately want to do it'.

She told OK! Magazine : "I tell you something, there will be if I’ve got anything to do with it.

“We’re constantly talking about it. The girls have had meetings and it’s something we all passionately want to do.

“We’re working through the ins and outs of Covid to try to make it happen.”

Sporty added that the five singers are now in the 'best place ever' with one other – adding: "We have more respect for each other than ever before, we’re all mums and we all know each other so well," she insisted.

"Even though Victoria wasn’t with us on stage for the last tour, she was completely with us in spirit and 100% there behind the scenes.

“We wanted her to be happy with everything, so she was involved with all the creative aspects of the show."
