Spice Girls 'targeted by hackers as new version of Wannabe leaks online'

Spice Girls have reportedly been hit by hackers who've leaked a re-recorded version of of their hit track Wannabe online.

The band brought in Diplo and Charli XCX to rework their 1996 chart-topper for their upcoming tour, naming the new version Spicy.

However, The Sun reports the song has leaked online days before they're due to kick off their dates in Dublin on Friday night.

A source said: "This song has been years in the making. It’s really disappointing that it’s been leaked at the last minute...

"Charli sings the verses and the chorus has been mashed up and turned on its head for a really cool dance song."

The song has a video, which will be released next week, but it doesn't feature any of the Spice Girls.

The news comes after fans were given their first look at the band's new stage set ahead of the tour launch this wee.

Emma Bunton took to Twitter today to give those heading to the shows a sneak preview.

She shared a picture of the stage with huge Spice World banners and a raised circular section in the centre, with steps leading up to it.

The stage is split into three sections, with a huge metal globe-shaped structure at its centre.

Wings on either side of the stage have huge screens above them.

Emma wrote: "Spice World production rehearsals done! Roll on Friday."

Emma is reuniting on stage with her bandmates Mel C, Mel B and Geri Horner, although Victoria Beckham won't be taking part.

The tour is named Spice World, a nod to the girls' 1997 comedy music movie.

Geri recently hit back at the haters after rumours of fighting between the group.

Asked what she thought of all the rumours and the critics, she told The Sun Online : "You think, ‘Oh f*** off!’."

The shows kick off on Friday and finish in London on June 15.
