Spice Girls kick off rehearsals for upcoming tour amid Mel B and Geri Horner drama

The Spice Girls have officially kicked off rehearsals for their upcoming tour next month.

The reunited band headed to a studio in north west London on Monday morning to start intense preparations as a group.

Geri Horner, who looked stylish in a white leather jacket, was the first to arrive at the venue with her 12-year-old daughter Bluebell by her side. Horner was followed by Emma Bunton, who wore a pair of funky heart-emblazoned sunglasses, and a dressed-down looking Melanie Chisholm.

There was no sign of Melanie Brown, who now lives in Los Angeles. Brown recently catapulted the band into the headlines after she claimed to have slept with Horner at the height of the band’s fame.

Brown nodded and smiled when asked by Piers Morgan if the pair had ever shared a bed “like that” during an interview on his Life Stories show.

She later backtracked on the sex claims, blaming the media for taking her remark “to new levels”. Horner also issued a statement, denying the “disappointing” reports.

Last week, Bunton revealed that the tour was set to go ahead as planned despite the drama and speculation that tensions between the pair would prove too much.

“Of course it’s happening, we are starting rehearsals on Monday!” she told Jonathan Ross on his self-titled show.

“It’s all fine. We have all chatted about it. Listen, we had fun back in the day. I didn’t know anything else but you know, we are all good, we’re starting Monday, we can’t wait, we’ve all been chatting, it’s all good.”

Bunton admitted that she “loves” Brown because of her “energy” and tendency to cause a bit of mischief among the close friends.

The Spice Girls tour, which was announced last year, will kick off on May 24 in Dublin, Ireland. The band will visit Cardiff, Manchester, Coventry, Sunderland, Edinburgh and Bristol before finishing off at London’s Wembley Stadium in mid-June.
