Spice Girls DENY world tour plans are axed after Mel B revealed Geri fling

The Spice Girls have been faced with rumours that they had scrapped plans for a world tour - but now they've hit back to say it's not true.

Tensions apparently rose following Mel B's scandalous interview with Piers Morgan where she dropped the bombshell that she and Geri Horner had a brief fling in the band's heyday.

Geri categorically denied it happened which left reportedly Mel furious after she had brought it out in the open and was 'made out to be a liar'.

It was then speculated that the fallout between the singers meant tour dates in the early planning stages for America, Australia and the Far East, had to be dropped.

However a spokesperson for the band has denied the rumours, telling the Standard that the reports are "inaccurate and factually untrue".

Mel B's outburst , in which she detailed an alleged fling during the height of the band's success, caused tension in the camp ahead of their summer reunion.

Plans were being put into place for a number of dates around the globe but The Mail On Sunday reported they had been shelved.

A source had told the paper: "It has been a hugely dramatic week. At one point last Sunday, the tour wasn't happening," a source said.

"They agreed that they had to do the British dates because they are under contract and they don’t want to let their fans down, but there won’t be any more.

"There had been plans to keep it going but no more."

Mel, 43, claims the pair enjoyed a wild night of passion more than 20 years ago which they “giggled” about afterwards.

She laughed that pal Geri, 46, would “kill her” for spilling the beans.

Geri's representatives said it was 'disappointing' to hear reports on the alleged fling and that it was 'simply not true' and was 'very hurtful'.

Adding: "Moving forward, Geri can’t wait to see the girls and all the fans on the tour, have an amazing time with everyone, and make some new memories."
