Spice Girl Mel B 'rushed to hospital after going BLIND' ahead of tour rehearsal

With a major tour coming up including a date in Bristol, fans of the Spice Girls up and down the country are buzzing with excitement.

But according to reports, a member of the band was allegedly rushed to hospital after reportedly going blind before tour rehearsals.

The Sun reported that singer Mel B, who is already blind in her left eye following botched laser surgery in 2014, lost the vision in her right eye on Friday.

According to sources at the Moorfields Eye Hospital in London, the 43-year-old arrived wearing an eye-patch saying: “I can’t see anything - I am totally blind.”

The source added Mel was in a lot of pain, and was transferred to Luton and Dunstable Hospital’s ophthalmology department for treatment.

Reports suggest she went against doctor’s orders to rejoin the Spice Girls’ tour rehearsals later the same day - just hours after her vision was restored.

It is believed the 43-year-old will still need intensive treatment on her vision, and has been prescribed medication.

A source claimed the Spice Girl was in “a really bad way” and arrived screaming at the hospital in a chauffeur-driven car holding her assistant’s hand.

It is not the first time the Spice Girls’ reunion tour has been thrown into doubt.

In March, Mel B claimed in a TV interview she had bedded bandmate Geri Horner, known as Ginger Spice, at the height of their fame.

The claims were said to have angered the 46-year-old and her husband Christian Horner, but it is reported the two women remain friendly.

The Spice World 2019 tour kicks off on May 24 at Dublin’s Croke Park before moving on to Cardiff, Manchester, Coventry, Sunderland, Edinburgh, Bristol and Wembley Stadium.

The tour was announced in November 2018 and will see the group, minus Victoria Beckham - perform for the first time together since the 2012 Summer Olympics Closing Ceremony.
