A 22-year-old man was caught with half a kilo of the drug spice a week after being bailed by magistrates in a fraud case, a court has heard.
The stash of Class B drug was found when police stopped Jack Brennan's car in an intelligence-led operation near the M4 in Hendy on June 28 this year.
Swansea Crown Court heard the week before the drugs bust, the defendant had been bailed by magistrates in relation to allegations of fraud.
Brennan, of Railway Place, Llanelli, pleaded guilty to possession of a synthetic cannabinoid with intent to supply when he appeared in the dock via the videolink from Swansea prison.
Police estimate the drug has a street value of around £10,000.
He also pleaded guilty to a count of fraud relating to selling a Mini Cooper in July 2018.
The defendant was further remanded into custody, and will be sentenced on Friday, August 7.
Speaking after his arrest in June, Dyfed-Powys Police detective inspector Wayne Bevan said the targeted stop of the vehicle and the seizure of the drug had prevented a significant quantity of spice from entering the supply chain in Carmarthenshire.
