Rangers FC insist they 'won't be bullied into silence' as SPFL fallout continues

Rangers have again claimed they "will not be bullied into silence" after their evidence dossier was attacked by the SPFL.

The Ibrox club circulated their alleged proof of wrongdoing to Scotland's 41 other sides earlier on Thursday - but the long-awaited reveal was met with a hostile rebuke from league bosses, reports the Daily Record.

An SPFL spokesperson alleges the document - which has yet to be released publicly - does not provide "a single shred of evidence" to back up allegations of foul play during April's vote to end the lower league season.

But Rangers have now retweeted their statement from April 11 in which they originally voiced concerns over "bullying and coercion".

The club wrote on Thursday: "#RangersFC will not be bullied into silence."

Running over 200 pages, Rangers' dossier was released to boardrooms around 10am this morning.

The SPFL's response admitted a more extensive analysis would be carried but was emphatic in asserting that grounds to suspend Doncaster and McKenzie remain baseless.

A spokesperson said: “It is now a month since Rangers accused the SPFL of bullying and corruption relating to the Dundee FC return.

“At last, Rangers have issued their ‘dossier’ and we will now take time to review it, before responding to all 42 clubs.

“Since Rangers publicly demanded the suspension of the SPFL’s chief executive and legal counsel, everyone in Scottish football has waited patiently for them to present their case.

“However, an initial examination of their ‘dossier’ has failed to identify a single shred of evidence to support Rangers’ vociferous claims of corruption, bullying and coercion by SPFL staff.

“If Rangers have any good reason for Neil Doncasterand Rod McKenzie to be suspended, we have yet to see it.”

It's understood Rangers' legal opinion states Doncaster has been in breach of duties in law as a director.

The SPFL will now convene an emergency meeting on Thursday afternoon to discuss its contents in detail - a conference call of which Rangers managing director Stewart Robertson is expected to be a part.

Robertson sits on the SPFL board and will face his counterparts at 2pm.
