Marvin Bartley has been appointed manager of Stenhousemuir and is set for a swift reunion with former club Livingston next month.
The 39-year-old succeeds Gary Naysmith, who agreed a move to Ayr United before guiding Stenhousemuir to promotion to the Scottish Championship via the play-offs.
Bartley departed Livingston following their relegation from the Premiership, revealing that he and assistant Neil Hastings felt they “had no option but to resign” after being asked to reapply for their roles. Hastings will now join him at Ochilview.
A former Hibernian and Livingston midfielder, Bartley had returned to the West Lothian side as first-team coach and was elevated to manager in February after David Martindale transitioned into a sporting director position.

Across his managerial career to date, Bartley has taken charge of 72 senior matches, recording 24 wins and 19 draws.
At Stenhousemuir, captain Gregor Buchanan will step into a player-coach role as the club prepares for its first season in the second tier since 1975.
Before the league campaign begins, Stenhousemuir will face Forfar Athletic, Brechin City, Partick Thistle and Livingston in the group stage of the Premier Sports Cup.
