SPFL League One and Two clubs 'bitterly disappointed' by suspension extension

League One and Two have expressed their disappointment to the news that the suspension of the lower leagues will continue into March.

The SFA announced earlier today that, after exhaustive discussions with the government, that all football outwith the top two divisions would remain suspended.

It came as a devastating blow to League One & Two clubs who had worked admirably together and agreed to commit to testing their players until the end of the season.

It's understood that it's unlikely all 27 fixtures of the season will be fulfilled and a statement released on behalf of the 20 clubs have called for discussions to remedy the situation.

The statement read: "League One & Two are bitterly disappointed at the decision to continue the suspension of football outwith the top two leagues.

"As the window for restarting has reduced, we will now be pressing the Scottish FA and the SPFL to find ways of allowing our seasons to play to a conclusion when that suspension is eventually lifted."
