SPFL clubs to open pop-up vaccination centres ahead of League Cup ties

SPFL clubs have been given the green light to open pop-up Covid-19 vaccination centres in car parks, in an attempt to prevent fixture disruption.

The Daily Mail reports that Scottish football's Joint Response Group has held talks with the Scottish Government about using areas around stadiums to administer jags to players, staff and fans, with high infection rates among under-30s.

Several clubs are involved in Premier Sports Cup fixtures this weekend, but Ross County have already been forced to forfeit their clash against Forfar Athletic due to an outbreak at the Dingwall club.

Crowds of at least 500 are permitted to attend matches and applications can be made to increase capacity on a case-by-case basis.
