The SPFL have rubber stamped a £3.6million payout for clubs across the country.
The cash will be spilt between the 42 member clubs in the cinch Premiership, cinch Championship, cinch League 1 and cinch League 2 as clubs continue to feel the after effects of the Covid crisis.
Following the latest distribution, the total league fees shared by clubs for season 2020/21 amounted to £28,357,215.
This figure excludes parachute payments and is the highest in the history of the league following the 2013 merger of the Scottish Premier League and Scottish Football League to form the 42-club structure.
Additionally this excludes parachute payments offered to clubs.
The governing body state that the the total figure distributed for season this season is £3m above budget and £5m more than the total fees distributed in 2019/20.
Delighted chief executive Neil Doncaster vowed to "maximise opportunities" for revenue in the game.
Doncaster's statement read: “We are extremely happy to be able to transfer £3.6m in league fees to our members this week, bringing total distributions to clubs for Season 2020/21 to over £28million – the largest sum in the history of Scottish league football.
“It continues to be a very tough time for our 42 member clubs as the entire country attempts to recover from the pandemic, but these vital funds will help support them in this difficult period.
"We are determined to continue building on this success in the coming years, working with our clubs and their executive teams to maximise opportunities to further invest in the game.”
The announcement follows a five-club alliance of Aberdeen, Hearts, Hibs, Dundee and Dundee United, hiring finance experts Deloitte to conduct a review the branding and structure at the SPFL, with fears league bosses weren’t doing enough to maximise revenue.
