SPFL clubs have been given the go-ahead to open pop-up Covid-19 vaccination centres in a bid to stave off potential fixture disruption.

Scottish football's joint response group has held talks with the Scottish Government over using stadium car-parks to administer jabs to players, staff and fans amid high infection rates among under 30s.

The 2021/22 season is set to begin this weekend but already the virus has caused disruption.

Ross County have been forced to forfeit their opening Premier Sports Cup fixture against Forfar Athletic due to an outbreak at the club.

Crowds of at least 500 are permitted to attend matches when cup fixtures commence on Friday night and applications can be made to increase capacity on a case-by-case basis.

It follows 12,000 punters attending Hampden's three Euro 2020 fixtures, including Scotland's defeats to Czech Republic and Croatia.
