Spencer Matthews hits out at Jamie Laing in fiery rant over 'wedding snub'

Spencer Matthews has had his say on why he didn't end up attending best friend Jamie Laing's lavish wedding.

Jamie, 34, who starred on Made in Chelsea alongside Spencer, married Sophie Haboo in a plush service on Friday, April 14, reports the Mirror. This ceremony followed their 16-month long engagement.

However, Spencer spent the big day abroad with his wife Vogue Williams and their three children. This news led fans to speculate if Matthews purposefully "snubbed" the ceremony - but he claims now that he wasn't even "invited".

The couple got married at a small ceremony at the Chelsea Register Office in West London, and will have a second wedding in Spain next month.

Chatting on the Spencer & Vogue podcast, the pair came clean about the wedding, after receiving some "really mean messages" for not attending the wedding.

Spencer said: "Sophie looked absolutely magnificent, we were absolutely thrilled for them, but we also did not know it was happening because we were not invited.

"I’m not here to b***h about my best friend but there’s been some serious miscommunication from him.”

The TV star continued: "I just want set the record straight. I’m not here to whinge. I was not invited to this part of Jamie’s wedding, and neither was Vogue."

Jamie had insisted that there was hardly anyone attending the ceremony, and it would be a "tiny" affair, according to Spencer.

Spencer went on to say that he had an inbox full of people demanding to know why he wasn't at the wedding, but was "actually quite p****d off" himself.

The dad-of-three revealed that if he had received an invitation, he would have "flown over to Japan" if it had been required because Jamie is his best friend, but insisted it's "water under the bridge now".

He added that he still "loves Jamie and Sophie" and they're "very close friends," and Jamie has been "profusely apologising" for the huge misunderstanding, explaining the saga was simply a "big mistake".

Wife Vogue also confirmed that she and Spencer were "in no way fighting with Jamie or Sophie", and wished them all the best.

Spencer Matthews and Vogue Williams got married in June 2018, ahead of their son's birth in the September - and Jamie wasn't in attendance that day either.

They exchanged vows in front of a small gathering of their immediate family in Scotland, including Spencer's brother James and his wife Pippa Middleton.
