A Dublin motorist tried to escape gardai by hiding in a car park and was caught with an open beer can beside the wheel.
The foolish driver caught the attention of gardai when they sped on the Long Mile Road yesterday.
And while they certainly wouldn't be qualified as an agent of stealth - it seems that common sense isn't among their strengths either.
When gardai approached them in the car park, they were found with an open beer can beside them and failed an intoxication test.
The car was seized by gardai, and now the driver faces a well deserved court appearance.
Gardai said: "This vehicle was spotted speeding on the Long Mile Road and tried to evade Gardaí by hiding in a car park.
"Open alcohol container found in car, driver tested for alcohol and failed. Vehicle seized and court proceedings to follow. #neverdriveintoxicated."
