Speeding driver who caused Hamilton crash banned from driving for 21 months

A speeding driver who caused a crash in Hamilton has been banned for 21 months and ordered to attend a programme for road traffic offenders.

Colin Murray will be supervised for a year, must do 135 hours of unpaid community work and must resit his test if he wants to drive again.

Murray, 39, of Glencoe Place, Hamilton, was sentenced at the town’s sheriff court last week.

He admitted driving dangerously and without insurance on Wellhall Road, Bradshaw Crescent and other streets on November 15 last year.

He was seen driving at speed repeatedly and failed to stop for the police before his car hit another vehicle.

There were no reports of injuries.
