Speeding driver fails drug test in Bolton

A driver failed a drugs test on Thursday (September 2) after he was stopped by Greater Manchester Police traffic officers for travelling at 40mph in a 30mph zone.

Officers were conducting speed enforcement operations on Belmont Road, Bolton, at the time of the Volkswagen Golf' driver's alleged offence.

After being stopped he tested positive for cannabis and was subsequently arrested.

Announcing the news on Twitter on Thursday night, Greater Manchester Police said: "#XT64 was out conducting #SpeedEnforcement on Belmont Road Bolton. The driver of the VW Golf was stopped having been recorded at 40mph in a 30mph zone. He then failed a drugs test +cannabis and was arrested."
