Thousands of pounds of cash was found when police searched a home after tracking a suspected stolen car.
Officers spotted the Volkswagen Golf travelling at "high speed" through Crosby on Wednesday morning.
It stopped on Bridge Road and those inside were seen to enter a property on the street.
Police swooped on the address and arrested four people on suspicion of a variety of offences - including theft of a bicycle.
Officers who searched the property during the operation uncovered wads of £20 and £10 notes totalling between £20,000 and £30,000.
Suspected stolen bikes and vehicle registration plates believed to have been cloned were also seized.
The investigation saw:
- A 58 year-old man from Crosby arrested on suspicion of acquiring/using/possessing criminal property and theft of a pedal cycle
- A 48 year-old man from Bootle arrested on suspicion of theft of a motor vehicle, driving while disqualified, acquiring/using/possessing criminal property, possession of cannabis and theft of a pedal cycle
- An 18 year-old man from Bootle arrested on suspicion of acquiring/using/possessing criminal property and theft of a pedal cycle
- A 47 year-old woman from Bootle arrested on suspicion of acquiring/using/possessing criminal property and theft of a pedal cycle.
All four have been released pending further enquiries.
