Speeding Alfa Romeo driver caught clocking speeds of over 100mph four times in three days by the same camera

A teenage motorist was caught driving at more than double the speed limit four times in three days by the SAME speed camera.

Patrick Joseph Smith repeatedly clocked speeds of over 100mph on the same stretch of road in Lincoln.

The 19-year-old admitted five speeding offences at Lincoln Magistrates' Court and was banned from driving for two years.

Earlier the court heard how Smith was first caught at 81mph on the A15 Sleaford Road at Harmston, between the Green Man Road and Tower Lane junctions, on October 16 last year, LincolnshireLive reports.

Later, the same day, the same camera recorded him doing 121mph - more than double the 60mph speed limit.

Smith, of Parklea, Ruskington, was then clocked doing 114mph just four days later by the same camera.

And the same camera recorded him breaking the limit twice more, reaching speed of 113mph and 121mph the day after, October 21.

Magistrates fined the speedster a total of £1,310 and ordered him to pay £85 costs and a £30 surcharge.

Speaking after the case, John Siddle, from Lincolnshire Road Safety Partnership, said: "This driver has clearly shown a total disregard for himself and other road users, as this is an average speed camera system he would have exceeded the figures given in Court.

"Thankfully he will have two years to reflect on his driving behaviour."
