Rose Byron returns to the Sydney Theatre Company stage in David Mamet’s satire on the ruthless nature of Hollywood, directed by Andrew Upton. Upton promises to bring new life to the fast, funny and exacting script which shines the spotlight on show business – a world Mamet knew all too well .
The play follows studio executives Bobby Gould and Charlie Fox, who came together in Hollywood’s cutthroat film world. Bobby’s one step ahead and has the authority to give the green light to any project he chooses, while Charlie lands a blockbuster, with a star attached. Yet millions of dollars are on the line, along with one wild card, Karen, the secretary who has ideas of her own.
