Speed bumps set to be installed on busy Kilmarnock road

A busy Kilmarnock road is set to be lined with speed bumps.

Hurlford Road, just off Queens Drive, will be worked on next year by Ayrshire Roads Alliance if plans officially get the green light.

Five bumps 75 millimeters high and 6.5 metres wide have been proposed to add to the one already on the street which merges from a 40mph zone into a 30mph one.

The plans for the road humps reads: “East Ayrshire Council, in accordance with Section 36 and 37 (2) of the Roads (Scotland) Act 1984, hereby gives notice of its intention to install road humps as described herein on B7072 Hurlford Road, Kilmarnock.

“A plan showing full details of these proposals is available for inspection at www.tellmescotland.gov.uk/notices/east-ayrshire/traffic/00000262137 or can be emailed by request by emailing enquiries@ayrshireroadsalliance.org

“Objectors must state their reasons in writing to: Head of Roads, Ayrshire Roads Alliance by Friday, December 24.”
