
The committee concerned with following up on the coronavirus confirmed Saturday that no cases of the novel virus have been registered in Saudi Arabia, reported the Saudi Press Agency.
It called on people to communicate with the Health Center if they have any inquiry about the virus.
Relevant information should be taken from official sources, not unconfirmed ones, it urged.
The committee convened in Riyadh at a meeting chaired by Dr. Tawfiq Al-Rabiah, in the presence of the committee members representing the ministries of Defense, Energy, Interior, National Guard, Foreign Affairs, Health, Finance, Media, Trade, Investment, Hajj and Umrah and Education, as well as the Civil Aviation Authority, the Saudi Red Crescent Authority, the Food and Drug General Authority, the General Customs Authority, the Ministry of Tourism, the National Center for Disease Prevention and Control.
During the meeting, relevant international events were reviewed, the current situation was evaluated and recommendations made in previous meetings were followed up.
The committee also reviewed the global situation and took a set of measures to limit the coronavirus outbreak.
The committee is responsible for following up on all developments related to COVID-19, coordinating between the concerned authorities, and ensuring that precautionary and preventive measures are implemented in the air, land and sea entry ports, to avert its spread.
