Specialist cops 'tape off' Aberdeen streets amid ongoing 'disturbance'

Specialist cops have taped off Scots streets amid an ongoing 'disturbance'.

Officers, including specialist units, have been called to Lemon Street in Aberdeen.

It is unclear the nature of the incident but police have said it is 'contained' and there is 'no wider threat to the local community.'

Some locals have reported seeing armed police in the area and areas being taped off.

Streets have been shut down as cops deal with the incident.

A statement issued by north-east division tonight reads: "We are currently dealing with a disturbance in the Lemon Street area of #Aberdeen and specialist officers are also in attendance.

"The incident is contained and there is no wider threat to the local community.

"Park Street is shut between Park Road roundabout and Constitution Street and the public are thanked for their patience while we deal with the matter."
