Special showing of Bend it Like Beckham with curry served in Edinburgh

Inspired by this year's Women's World Cup, there's a special showing of the classic film Bend It Like Beckham with some delicious food being served too.

Punjabi Junction will be serving up their trademark curries during the showing at Thomas Morton Hall in Leith on September 18.

The showing has been organised by the Reel Girl Film Club, who celebrate women in front of and behind the camera.

You'll be able to grab a chicken or vegetarian curry along with rice and pakoras as you enjoy the film.

First released in 2002, Bend It Like Beckham coming-of-age romantic comedy follows the life of young Jess, the daughter of a Punjabi Sikh family living in London.

She tries to pursue her passion for playing football in the face of her family’s disapproval.

The showing starts at 7pm and you can find out more here.
