Special screenings of Joker with a live orchestra are coming to Yorkshire

It is tipped for Oscar success and made millions at the box office so the team behind Joker are bringing special screenings to Yorkshire.

Joker Live in Concert is getting its world debut in the UK with showings of the film, starring Joaquin Phoenix, being accompanied at venues by a live orchestra.

For those who don’t know, the film follows Arthur Fleck as he becomes the infamous comic book villain.

Speaking about the concert series, composer Guðnadóttir said: “I’m thrilled to get to see and hear Joker in the cinema with a live orchestra.

“When we recorded the music, the orchestra brought such depth and detailed attention to the performances that we were all literally holding our breaths during most of the recording sessions. It was a beautiful trip. I’m so happy to get to go there again and for an audience to experience that too.”

There are three Yorkshire events happening as part of the first tour. You can experience it at Hull Bonus Arena on May 16, York Barbican on May 17 and Sheffield City Hall on June 24.

Tickets

You’ll be able to buy tickets from Ticketmaster when they go on sale.

They will be available from 10am on Friday, February 7.
