Nicole Kidman might be going through a very public split, but she’s clearly not letting that stop her from having a bit of fun. The Oscar-winning actress made a surprise appearance at Sabrina Carpenter’s Nashville concert on November 4, where she was cheekily “arrested for being too hot.”
As Carpenter prepared to introduce her next song, she suddenly spotted Kidman in the audience and couldn’t resist the moment. “We come to this arena for magic, right? Oh my goodness, speaking of magic,” the singer said as sirens blared and cameras zoomed in on the actress beaming on the jumbotron. “I expected to find love but not my soulmate,” Carpenter teased, before presenting Kidman with a pair of pink furry handcuffs and dedicating her next song, Juno, to her, reported Variety.
The playful exchange quickly lit up social media, with fans thrilled to see Kidman out and about after weeks of headlines about her divorce from country star Keith Urban. The pair’s split came as a shock to many, marking the end of their 20-year marriage. Kidman filed for divorce in September, citing “irreconcilable differences” and listing the date of separation as the same day she filed.

Reports from TMZ suggested there may have been more to the story, with one insider claiming “all the signs point to the fact that Keith is with another woman.” Neither Urban nor Kidman has commented publicly on the rumours. The actress, 58, shares two daughters with Urban — Sunday Rose, 17, and Faith Margaret, 14 — and has kept busy with public appearances and work commitments since the split.
Urban, also 58, has been making headlines of his own. During his Nashville concert on October 17, he forgot the lyrics to one of his biggest hits, The Fighter, his 2016 duet with Carrie Underwood. Laughing it off, he told the crowd, “And I’ve forgotten my own words to my song,” earning cheers from the audience as his bandmate Natalie Stovall jumped in to help him finish.
Fans were quick to notice that The Fighter had been dropped from his setlist earlier in the tour. The move came amid whispers about his chemistry with guitarist Maggie Baugh, who has since been rumoured to be the “other woman.” Baugh was noticeably absent from the Nashville show that night, fuelling even more speculation online.
Despite the drama, Kidman’s lighthearted moment at Carpenter’s show offered a welcome reminder of her trademark poise and humour. Dressed effortlessly chic and laughing along with the crowd, she seemed entirely unbothered by the media frenzy surrounding her private life.
As one fan commented online, “Only Nicole Kidman could get ‘arrested for being too hot’ weeks after filing for divorce and still look like she’s having the time of her life.”
For now, Kidman appears to be focusing on family, her upcoming film projects, and a bit of well-deserved fun — pink handcuffs and all.
@people We come to the #ShortnSweet tour for magic … and to see who #SabrinaCarpenter “arrests” next. This time? It was NicoleKidman.
