Speakers seized from noisy neighbour for second time during lockdown

A man has had speakers, TVs and microphones seized for the second time during lockdown after 'harassing his neighbours' with noise.

The 32-year-old first had TVs and speakers confiscated by Bury Council in August after he kept playing loud music all day and night.

Six Town Housing, which manages Bury's housing stock, warned their tenant not to make any more noise.

But despite the reprimand, the man went out and got more equipment later to carry on disturbing his neighbours just two days after the council seized his items.

The equipment has once again been confiscated by the council.

Councillor Alan Quinn, cabinet member for the environment, said: “This man blatantly ignored the warnings and carried on his disruption within days of our initial seizure. We will continue to take action against people who harass their neighbours in this way.”

A spokesperson for Six Town Housing said: “In addition to the equipment being seized, we are talking to Bury Council about the best way to progress further enforcement so we can protect the community from this unacceptable behaviour.”
