Speaker John Bercow makes £750,000 selling THREE homes taxpayer helped pay for

Commons speaker John Bercow has made an estimated £750,000 selling three properties the taxpayer helped to pay for, the Mirror can reveal.

It has been reported Mr Bercow claimed second home expenses on two homes in his Buckingham constituency and, from 2005, his London flat.

Mr Bercow, who claimed on only one property at any time, lives with wife Sally in a flat that comes free with his job.

He lets a fourth home, bought in 2013, for roughly £5,000 a month.

In 2003 Mr Bercow sold his home in Adstock for £162,000 and a roughly £30,000 profit.

He and Mrs Bercow then bought a home in Buckingham for £145,950 and the London flat for £540,000.

By 2005, he “flipped” his second home to the London address and, from 2004-2009, claimed £56,767 in mortgage interest payments.

It was listed for sale in 2011 for £1.2million. His Buckingham home sold for £215,000.
