SPCA's Edinburgh centre has made an appeal for 'essential items'

The Scottish SPCA's Edinburgh centre has an issued an appeal asking for "essential items".

The SPCA depend on public donations and their rehoming centre in Balerno is in need of cat food, dog blankets and other vital items.

SPCA Edinburgh have an amazon wish list with the products they need the most (which can be found here) for all their animals, from reptiles to rabbits.

For cats, a scratching post and scratching house are products that are a high priortity.

A message to those who donate reads: "Thank you for your extremely kind donation! Unfortunately when your donations arrives at our centre it will not include your contact details. So thank you in advance on behalf of all the animals you will help."

They also accept tins or pouches of cat food in jelly that can be dropped in at the centre.
