Michigan State football officially signed an under-the-radar wide receiver prospect from the Lone Star State on Wednesday.
Three-star wide receiver Charles Taplin officially signed with the Spartans on Wednesday as part of National Signing Day. Taplin hails from Red Oak, Texas, and had been verbally committed to Michigan State since June.
Taplin ranks as the No. 166 wide receiver in 247Sports’ rankings for the 2025 class. He’s also listed as the No. 177 player from Texas in the class.
Michigan State edged out the following schools that also offer Taplin: Arizona, Arkansas State, Bowling Green, Louisana, Louisana Tech, Navy, North Texas, Sam Houston State, San Diego State, Tulsa, UTEP and Washington State.
