Lukas Haraslin has told Rangers they'll have to fight their way past Sparta Prague to have any chance of advancing in the Europa League.
A 2-0 win over Brondby got Steven Gerrard 's side on the board in Group A, sitting one point behind the Czechs.
Sparta took a 2-0 lead over Lyon in the other game but were ultimately beaten 4-3 to leave the French side clear in the distance at the top.
Finishing second in the group would bring a chance of the knockout stage, with a play-off against a team dropping down from the Champions League.
And while third place will parachute into the Europa Conference League, Haraslin - who struck twice against OL - expects to be fighting Rangers for the runner-up spot.
He said: "Losing hurts at any time, but losing when we didn't deserve to is much worse.
"But we played a good match and we are still in the qualifying places in the table above Rangers and we know it will be very tight between us.
"We have been ahead and matched Lyon for the whole match. They are an excellent team and one of the best in France. So that gives you an idea of how well we played.
"In the Czech league, when we go two goals up here, there's no opponent coming back from that. But Lyon are at a different level. They showed their quality in the second half, but we still didn't deserve to lose.
"But it's important for us to learn from this and bounce back for the rest of the group. Lyon away will be difficult, but we showed we could match them."
