Sparta Prague cleared in Rangers clash racism probe as UEFA find 'insufficient evidence' amid Glen Kamara boos

UEFA have cleared Sparta Prague of allegations of racism against Glen Kamara.

The Rangers star was audibly jeered in the Europa League clash at Letna Stadium, which was attended by 10,000 schoolchildren due to a stadium ban for racist behaviour in an earlier European tie.

It came after Kamara was racially abused by Slavia Prague's Ondrej Kudela at Ibrox last season.

Rangers complained to UEFA for the treatment Kamara received with Steven Gerrard among the critics of the home fans' behaviour.

UEFA launched an investigation but have ruled there is "insufficient evidence" of racism.

A statement reads: "In accordance with Article 31(4) of the UEFA Disciplinary Regulations, a UEFA Ethics and Disciplinary Inspector was appointed to conduct a disciplinary investigation regarding potential discriminatory incidents which allegedly occurred during the 2021/22 UEFA Europa League group stage match between AC Sparta Praha and Rangers FC played on 30 September 2021.

"The investigation has now concluded that there was insufficient evidence of racism or discriminatory conduct at the match to warrant the opening of disciplinary proceedings against AC Sparta Praha."
