Sparta Prague claim Rangers star Glen Kamara wasn't racially abused and insist UEFA delegate's report clears them

Sparta Prague claim the UEFA delegates’ report from their clash with Rangers clears their fans of any racism against Glen Kamara.

A spokesman for the Czech club is adamant their supporters are innocent despite European football’s governing body launching a probe

And amazingly they say the official report from those on UEFA duty on the night of last week's Europa League encounter back that up.

That is despite the jeers which were clearly audible when Kamara and some of his black team-mates touched the ball.

A stadium ban had been relaxed to allow supervised children to attend - with one pictured holding up a ‘Kudela Team’ placard to back Slavia rival Ondrej Kudela who was found guilty of racially abusing Kamara last season.

Hamilton midfielder Miko Virtanen hopes to follow Rangers star Glen Kamara into the Finland national side (SNS Group)

Yet a club spokesman said: "For the club, we stand behind the statement we published on Friday.

"We absolutely deny that there were any manifestations of racism in our stadium.

"This was also stated in the report by the group of delegates in charge of the match.”

Uefa have appointed an ethics and disciplinary inspector "to conduct a disciplinary investigation regarding potential discriminatory incidents allegedly occurring during the 2021/22 UEFA Europa League group stage match between AC Sparta Prague and Rangers."
