A devoted Blantyre couple have celebrated their diamond wedding anniversary.
Gordon and Isobel Robinson enjoyed a celebratory meal at Greenhall Farm estate to mark 60 years of wedded bliss.
The couple, who have one daughter and three grandchildren who live in Ireland, were delighted to receive flowers on behalf of South Lanarkshire Council and of course a certificate to mark their special occasion from Her Majesty the Queen, hand delivered by the Lord Provost Ian McAllan.
They also enjoyed a lovely cake and an afternoon of celebrating back at their Main Street, Blantyre, home.
Gordon and Isobel met and worked at George Boyd’s in Glasgow back in the day.
Gordon worked for the Trade Federation covering Scotland and the North of England. When he retired he was a volunteer car ambulance driver for 12 years. His hobbies included playing squash and badminton and he still supports his beloved Hamilton Accies to this day.

Isobel joined the Church at the age of 16 years old, and has been very involved within Blantyre Old Parish Church over the years volunteering as Brown Owl in the Brownies, Sunday School teacher, an Elder, President of the Woman’s Guild and a member of the Festival Group.
She has also spent lots of happy hours over the year doing her crochet .
They have a shared love of gardening and their family .
Once their daughter was older, Isobel worked in the local shop ‘Wilson’s’ for 20 years, she also volunteered at The Haven Blantyre for 12 years.
