'Spare' Princess Anne forged own path could offer advice to Harry, says friend

A friend of the Royal Family has urged Prince Harry to follow the example of his auntie Princess Anne after a series of bombshell revelations in his new memoir.

As snippets and stories from the Duke of Sussex's soon to be released memoir Spare, Harry has seemingly taken aim at his brother Prince William.

It was revealed earlier this week the brothers had a row which turned to a physical altercation over Meghan Markle, with Harry claiming the Prince of Wales called his wife "difficult", "rude" and "abrasive".

Passages from Harry's new book claim his brother grabbed him by the collar and knocked him to the floor in a brawl following a heated row.

Many more claims and allegations against the Royal Family in Harry's book, which is set to be released this week, have been released in the past week.

But now, a friend of the Royal Family has suggested Prince Harry sit down with his aunt, Princess Anne, who was one in a similar position to him as a "spare" and heed her advice.

“He really ought to talk to Princess Anne,” a source told the Telegraph.

“She often talked about how, as children, she was treated so differently to Charles.

"She was second to him and kicked further down the line of succession as a woman, but she forged her own path.

"In her twenties she was bolshy and upset about a lot of things, but she came through that.

"He should talk to her about her experiences. She is shrewd, she could tell him a lot about what she went through.”

Other bombshell revelations from the Prince's memoirs saw him reveal he took cocaine when he was younger, as well as making claims he killed 25 members of the Taliban while touring Afghanistan.

Tonight ITV will broadcast an interview with Prince Harry as he promotes his memoir.

In a previously released trailer for the ITV interview, Harry says he is publishing his memoirs because he does not know "how staying silent is ever going to make things better".

In another clip, he says he wants to reconcile with his family - but that it cannot happen without "some accountability".
