Spanish Thriller 'Undercover' Reveals Real-Life Infiltration Of Terrorist Group.

Arantxa Echevarría directs the crime thriller 'Undercover.'

A Spanish police officer's life is set to change dramatically as she delves into a perilous mission in the captivating teaser trailer for Arantxa Echevarría's upcoming crime thriller, 'Undercover.' The film is scheduled to hit Spanish cinemas on October 11, presented by Beta Fiction Spain.

'Undercover' is inspired by the true story of Aranzazu Berradre Marín, the undercover police officer who successfully infiltrated the terrorist group ETA, responsible for numerous casualties and injuries until its dissolution in 2018.

The narrative, penned by Echevarría and Amèlia Mora, unfolds over the eight-year period of Marín's undercover operation, focusing on the constant fear of exposure that haunted her every move.

The movie reunites the Goya-winning director of 'Carmen and Lola' with Carolina Yuste, who portrays the undercover agent, alongside acclaimed actor Luis Tosar. The ensemble cast includes Víctor Clavijo, Nausicaa Bonnín, Iñigo Gastesi, Diego Anido, Pepe Ocio, Carlos Troya, Pedro Casablanc, and Jorge Rueda.

'Undercover' is produced by María Luisa Gutiérrez at Bowfinger Int. Pictures and Mercedes Gamero at Beta Fiction Spain, in collaboration with other production entities. The film, distributed by Film Factory Entertainment, offers a compelling portrayal of Marín's courageous story.

Gutiérrez and Gamero expressed their commitment to authenticity in depicting Marín's experiences, emphasizing the importance of showcasing such untold stories of heroism and sacrifice.

The production team conducted thorough research and engaged with individuals closely connected to the events portrayed in the film, ensuring a genuine representation of the narrative.

By shedding light on the remarkable achievements of individuals like Marín, 'Undercover' aims to bring recognition to those who risk their lives in service of the public, challenging societal taboos and advocating for the normalization of such narratives.

With a strong emphasis on realism and character development, the film promises to offer viewers a gripping and immersive cinematic experience, transporting them back to a pivotal period in Spanish history.
