More clubs are said to have joined the race for reported Nottingham Forest target Younousse Sankhare.
The Reds have been linked with the Bordeaux midfielder this summer, along with Cardiff City, Swansea City and Sheffield United - with the Bluebirds previously said to have been in pole position to secure his signature.
And now reports in France claim Spanish teams Alaves and Leganes have expressed an interest in the 29-year-old.
Sankhare is said to not be part of boss Paulo Sousa’s plans at Bordeaux, despite having another two years remaining on his contract with the French club.
He was recently quoted by L’Equipe expressing his dissatisfaction with the way he has been treated by the Ligue 1 side.
“I understand what position I am in,” he said, in a translated interview. “Each time there is a new manager, it is the same thing. I am initially cast aside, I do what I need to do to reintegrate myself and things go well.
“This time, the coach (Sousa) made it clear to me that he is not counting on me, that I needed to find an exit door.
“Okay, but I am not just going to go to any old club, in any way.
“They want to sort out my situation as quickly as possible but they need to respect me at the very least.
“I have actually succeeded in Ligue 1, I’ve been here for two-and-a-half years and I make an impact once every three times. I am not going to go to any random project just because Bordeaux have decided to (get) rid of me.”
