Nottingham Forest defender Chema continues to be linked with a move away from the City Ground.
The Reds central defender was reportedly the subject of interest from Spanish club Almeria last week, but now fresh reports have provided a development.
According to Diariode Almeria, negotiations between the Forest and Almeria are at at advanced stage, and “on track” which could see a deal could be completed within days.
The report adds that Chema is keen to return to his homeland, despite only signing for the Reds in the summer from La Liga side Levante.
Hopes were high he would feature heavily when signed to fill a gap in the squad as a left-footed central defender.
However, he has played just five times this season and only started twice in the Championship thanks to the form of Joe Worrall, Tobias Figuieredo and Michael Dawson.
It would be the second time Almeria, who are second in La Liga 2, have signed a player from Forest this season.
They spent £8m on winger Arvin Appiah in August , although the 18-year-old has only played six times this season, starting once in the league.
