Spanish airport strike could cause travel chaos for Irish passengers over Easter Bank Holiday weekend

A planned strike by Spanish airport staff could cause travel chaos for Irish passengers this Easter.

Up to 60,000 workers are set to take part in industrial action that could see flights disrupted over the weekend.

Unions representing ground staff at Spanish airports, Unión Sindical Obrera (USO) and Unión General de Trabajadores (UGT), have called for two days of action on April 21 and 24.

Ryanair boss Michael O'Leary gives passengers free drinks on flight from Liverpool to Dublin Airport after Grand National win

And a spokesman for the unions announced today an agreement hadn't been reached and the action was therefore expected to go ahead.

All airports in Spain would be affected by the strike, potentially causing serious disruption to Irish passengers over the busy bank holiday.
