A musical icon is set for a stint behind the decks in Weston-super-Mare just before Christmas.
Spandau Ballet legend Martin Kemp will perform a 'Back To The 80s’ party at the Tropicana in the seaside town on Friday night (December 20).
People can expect to hear a mix of the best festive songs of all time and the biggest hits from the 1980s at the event, as Kemp trades his bass for the vinyl.
Following a string of well-received shows around the country throughout 2019, Kemp's DJ show sees him dropping all the greatest hits from what was a seminal era for pop music.
Speaking about his success as a DJ, he said: "It's amazing! People absolutely lose themselves, singing to every word.
"It's the most euphoric atmosphere I have ever been in in my life."
Alongside his role as bassist in Spandau Ballet, Kemp is also a TV personality who has starred in the likes of The Krays and Eastenders, as well as appeared on Channel 4's Celebrity Island with Bear Grylls and with his son Roman on Celebrity Gogglebox.
A spokesperson for the Tropicana event said: "Dig out those festive jumpers and your finest leg warmers, grab those dancing shoes, and prepare to enjoy a night of pure ‘Gold’ as the biggest 80’s singalong returns to Somerset returns for an unmissable seasonal special.
"Promising to be anything but a 'silent night’, get on your finest fancy dress and get ready to sing your hearts out at a Christmas Party like no other!"
