Spain weather warning issued by Foreign Office

If you're travelling to Spain, then you need to be aware of new advice issued by the Foreign Office.

Spain’s meteorological agency (AEMET) has issued an “extreme risk” weather warning due to torrential rain forecast for the country.

Between September 12 and 13, the regions of Valencia, Alicante, Murcia and Almeria have been issued an orange weather warning.

The Foreign Office is warning that tourists may experience flash floods in the region, which could cause disruption and delays to transport services.

They are advising tourists in the area to follow the advice of local authorities.

In June, a heatwave swept across Spain setting a number of historic records - with some cities experiencing temperatures of 43.3 degrees C.
