Two goals apiece from Rodrigo Moreno and Paco Alcacer gave Spain a comfortable 4-0 win over the Faroe Islands in Euro 2020 qualifying in Gijon on Sunday night.
Spain, who beat Romania 2-1 on Thursday in Roberto Moreno's first game as full-time coach, dominated from the outset at El Molinon.
Faroe Islands had lost 4-0 to Sweden in their last match and the gulf in class was evident, but the visitors defended with most of their players behind the ball and openings were few and far between.
La Roja took the lead after 13 minutes when Mikel Oyarzabal was clean through, but squared unselfishly for the unmarked Rodrigo to tap into the empty net.
The Valencia striker looked to be slightly offside, but there is no VAR in Euro 2020 qualifying and the goal stood.
Spain missed several chances to add a second in the remainder of the half, with Faroe Islands goalkeeper Gunnar Nielsen (once of Manchester City) in fine form to deny a Thiago volley from the edge of the box, among other opportunities.
Thiago also headed just wide when he should have scored from a Dani Parejo pass, but Rodrigo doubled Spain's lead five minutes into the second half when he cut in from the right and lined up a shot which deflected in off a Faroe Islands defender to make it 2-0.
As the minutes ticked away, it looked as if that might be that, but Alcacer came off the bench to flick home a Thiago cross following a fine team move after 89 minutes.
And the Borussia Dortmund forward popped up again in added time to head past Nielsen at the near post after a cross from former Valencia team-mate Jose Luis Gaya.
Spain top Group F with six wins out of six, with Faroe Islands bottom on no points, having conceded 20 goals and scored only three.
