Fears about Spain joining the red list are rising after it was revealed more than one in 35 travellers arriving from the country back to Britain test positive for Covid-19.
Mainland Spain and Spanish islands are on the UK's amber list.
Previously the Balearic Islands were on the green list, but after an increase in cases, they were demoted to amber.

Travellers who are not fully vaccinated arriving in England from amber list countries, such as Spain, must self-isolate for 10 days upon arrival and take a PCR test on day two and day eight.
They may be able to get out of quarantine early if you pay for a private PCR test to be taken on day five under the Test to Release scheme.
Those who have had two vaccines only need to take a PCR test on day two of their arrival and can skip self-isolation - the same rules apply to those under the age of 18 regardless of their vaccination status.
However, there are concerns Spain could be added to the red list.
According to iNews, Spain had the highest level of infections, with 2.9 per cent of travellers from the country testing positive at some point in the first 10 days after their arrival in the UK.
The UK government has said no travel is risk-free currently.
They added countries may further restrict travel or bring in new rules at short notice, for example, due to a new Covid-19 variant.
Under the latest changes, India, Bahrain, Qatar and the United Arab Emirates were moved out of the red list, while Mexico, Georgia and the French overseas territories of La Reunion and Mayotte were added to that tier.
