Spain's Eurovision performance gets mixed reaction after 'raunchy' dance

Spain's performance in the Eurovision Song Contest has divided viewers' opinions.

Last night, Cuban artist Chanel took to the stage of the PalaOlimpico to perform her track, SloMo.

The musical theatre artist has performed in productions of The Lion King, Flashdance and Mamma Mia and has previously danced on stage with Shakira.

But it was Chanel's "raunchy" dance during her Eurovision performance which left viewers blushing, Birmingham live reported.

Many fans took to Twitter to hail Chanel as their winner, however others pointed out an issue with her performance. They said that the competition should be about singing, not dancing.

Joseph @joseph_robowizo tweeted: "This is a song contest not a dancing." Cesar @Cesar300390 agreed, writing: "#Eurovision is a song contest, not a choreography contest."

Meanwhile, Paschi @paschipaschi_ commented: "bad vocal performance. the rest was good." And @den_jw appeared to throw shade at the dancing acts, writing: "perfect. No daft dancing, just the song. She's wearing a nice dress n'all."

Not all fans agreed. @Khxsaia tweeted: "im sorry but if they aren’t dancing, my interest is capped." Mel @lydmel added: "BEST PERFORMANCE TONIGHT," while Andy @Noynek enthused: "#SPN channelling Beyonce but it's catchy 8/10 Bit raunchy."

@CatsCountdown tweeted: "Maybe not best song, but great performance!!" And @chico_for declared: "Singing, dancing, Spain's Chanel this year has it all, hands down. If Spain doesn't win this is rigged. That simple."
