SpaceX to launch another rocket tonight - here's how you can watch

Another Falcon 9 is set to blast off into space this week following the successful launch of the first rocket from Elon Musk's company over the weekend.

The SpaceX vessel is expected to take off from Cape Canaveral on Wednesday (June 3) as part of the Starlink mission.

The news comes less just three days after Glaswegians were delighted to catch a glimpse of the historic spacecraft as it passed overhead on Saturday.

Astronauts Robert Behnken and Douglas Hurley are now International Space Station.

Their journey marks the first time humans have been travelled to space from the US since 2011 and the first for a private company.

The next SpaceX launch is schedule for 20:55 EDT on June 3, which means is will take off at 1.55am in the UK on the morning of June 4.

Glaswegians will have to stay up late night if they want to watch the launch, which will be live streamed.

NASA's Kennedy Space Centre said: "SpaceX is scheduled to launch the 8th mission of the constellation of networked satellites known as Starlink.
"The goal of Starlink is to create a network that will help provide internet services to those who are not yet connected, and to provide reliable and affordable internet across the globe."

During the launch, the Falcon 9 rocket will carry the Starlink satellites into orbit, before attempting to land at sea.
This is the eighth batch of Starlink satellites, bringing the total number in orbit to nearly 500.
Elon Musk hopes the satellites will bring low-cost internet to remote areas on Earth.

Starlink explained: "With performance that far surpasses that of traditional satellite internet, and a global network unbounded by ground infrastructure limitations, Starlink will deliver high speed broadband internet to locations where access has been unreliable, expensive, or completely unavailable."

Meanwhile, Glaswegians will have several opportunities to see the Starlink satellites from the UK this week.

According to Find Starlink, the satellites will be visible from the UK at:
June 3, 2020 - 1:37am
June 3, 2020 - 3:30am
June 4, 2020 - 12:39am
June 4, 2020 - 4:04am
June 5, 2020 - 3:06am
June 6, 2020 - 12:12am
June 6, 2020 - 2:08am

SpaceX will stream the launch live on its YouTube channel here.
