SpaceX's latest project will be visible zipping across Irish skies tonight for almost 20 minutes

SpaceX's latest project will be visible in Irish skies tonight for almost twenty minutes.

The Starlink project, Elon Musk's plan to blanket Earth in high-speed satellite internet, is underway with dozens of satellites already in space.

And according to Astronomy Ireland you will be able to see these satellites zip across the sky later tonight.

Around 50 small white lights will go across the sky with ten second gaps between each very high in the southerly direction at 11:35pm.

That batch of satellites was launched just over a week ago on June 4.

One minute later at 11:36pm the skies will light up almost directly above the country with more Starlinks passing with 20 second intervals for more than 15 minutes.

This second batch which will be visible directly overhead were launched into the atmosphere on April 22.

Unfortunately the weather isn't great in parts of the country but if you happen to get a break in clouds you should be able to see them.

The company plans to launch another batch of broadband internet satellites into orbit on Saturday while the company's new spaceship sits docked to the International Space Station.

These should also be visible over Ireland at some point.
