Elly Steiner, 30, Laura Brand, 24, Corey Turner, 24, and Conrad James, 27, London

Best hack?

Conrad: “We’ve put a dinosaur on the tent. It was a present from my brother – it helps to find it again.”

Elly: “He was erect when we put him up. He’s gone a bit limp now.”

Best things we’ve seen?

Elly: “Mark Ronson and Motörhead – they were great. Oh, and the stone circle and the cave with the waterfall.”

Conrad: “People with their great vibes.”

Corey: “Everyone’s so clean and respectful …”

Shilagh Harris, 69, Cumbria

Best hack?

“What’s a hack? A handy hint? We’ve got a collapsible washboard. And some bed rolls. As long as you get a good night’s sleep, it’s fine. We’ve got an amazing view of the Pyramid stage from up here. All the neighbouring tents are my family – my daughter, son-in-law, my grandsons and their friends. They keep saying they’re going to wheel me around in a buggy with my Laura Ashley cushion if I get tired – I put off having a leg operation to come here. I’m having such a good time – I’m looking forward to Florence, the Moody Blues and Burt Bacharach.”

Best hack?

Ozzie: “We’ve got the biggest trolley in Glastonbury. One trip and you’re done.”

Clarkey: “The Beast rolls in nicely. The days of Argos trolleys are gone. There’s room for the tent, beer, everything …”

Ozzie: “We’re here for our friend Stephen’s birthday – he’s 60 today!”

Best hack?

Rosie: “We’ve got a four-man tent for two people. As long as you’ve got an area to sit in, you’re sorted.”

Best thing we’ve seen?

Niamh: “Florence. She put on a boss show.”

Katie: “We camped here with a great view of the Other stage – it’s been great. No rain came in and you get people walking past all day saying hello.”

Emma Callaghan, 26, and Heidi Burton, 26, London

Best hack?

Emma: “We got a tipi because we couldn’t live without a shower. It’s our first time so we wanted to play it safe. But when it started to rain, all our stuff got wet … There’s enough space in here for five people. It’s great, but we’re on a hill so we end up at the bottom in the morning.”

Best thing we’ve seen?

Heidi: “Two boys swimming in the mud. They were caked in it, diving in wearing all their clothes …”

Kaz Obuko, 30, Adefola Ademirer, 29, Pad Bell, 29, Jax Crutchfield, 25, and Garett Mellor, 28, London

Best hack?

Adefola: “Well, gazebos are banned this year, so we put up this massive tarpaulin over all the tents. It’s tied to all the tents and propped up on this pole. It’s a gazebo placebo!”

Pad: “Our friend found half a football in a field and thought it would be the perfect thing to stick on the pole in the middle. There were some issues with the rain – pools of water creeping in, but apart from that it does the job.”

Best things we’ve seen?

Adefola: “Alabama Shakes and Mark Ronson – when Boy George came on, I thought something was going to happen to me!”

Pad: “Maceo Plex, Rudimental, Dutty Moonshine was going off as the sun came up.”

Garett: “Three hours of solid techno.”

Jax: “Not everyone enjoyed that.”
