SP is not anywhere closeto ‘samajwad’, says Rajnath Singh

KANPUR: Defence minister Rajnath Singh on Wednesday slammed Samajwadi Party and said they are not even anywhere close to ‘samajwad’ since a true socialist is one who allays fears and hunger.

“If someone is doing ‘samajwad’ in India, then our brother Narendra Modi is doing it. He is a socialist in a true sense. During the corona crisis, people became jobless, all work came to a halt in lockdown. Our Prime Minister was worried about the people in distress, and today 80 crore people are being provided free ration twice a month in India. This is not happening in any other country of the world,” he said while addressing an election rally in Cantt assembly segment in support of BJP candidate Raghunandan Bhadauria.

Singh also attacked Congress leader Rahul Gandhi saying he has been defaming the country over the Galwan Valley clash in Ladakh.

“A report published in Australian newspaper The Klaxon puts Chinese casualties at 38-50. They were questioning the bravery, courage and might of our soldiers. Now you decide how he can be answered in a democratic system,” Singh added.

“We did whatever we had announced in our election manifesto. We will not break your trust at any cost,” he said.

SP was routed in 2014, 2017, 2019, and it must be worried this time too, he added.

Singh said, “Don’t do politics of caste, creed and religion. We want to form a government with love.”

“Our government understands the problems of people living in Cantt. We will amend the Cantonment Act soon. The previous governments destroyed the textile industry of Kanpur and put the leather industry in danger. Our government is building a mega leather park in Kanpur,” said Singh.

The BJP government has given 10% reservation to the poor of the general category. Our government also gave constitutional status to the OBC Commission, he added.

Earlier, ‘katta’ (country-made weapon) was fired in UP, Now, AK-203 and BrahMos missiles will be made in Uttar Pradesh, said Singh.
